Serenity and Rose Quartz; Pantone color(s) of the year 2016

The Pantone color of the year 2016 has been announced, and this year for the first time, Pantone has come out with two colors a soft, airy blue color called "Serenity" and a warm rose tone color called "Rose Quartz."
Pantone predicts color(s) that will be popular for the year and thus will be seen on fashion runways, beauty products and the design industry and most of the time their predictions are spot on.

According to Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, they joined together "Rose quartz and serenity to demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer rose tone and a cooler tranquil blue tone to reflect connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace."

Why the colors rose quartz and serenity, you may ask, well, according to Pantone they chose these colors for the symbolic meaning behind it. According to Pantone, it's a color snapshot of what's going on in our culture and both colors serve as an expression of a mood and an attitude. Pantone says that "Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure." While Serenity reminds us of the airy and weightless feeling of the sky "bringing feelings of respite and relaxation" in our troubled world.

I am excited to see this color trend next year.
